"capture rate" discussion

Preface: this concerns MUTIII logging

Can you explain the "capture rate"?

Here's what I know. Using a "capture rate" of 20ms. If you select only one parameter to log, the scan time(as seen at the bottom of the logger screen) is ~31ms. If you select 2 parameters it doesn't change the scan time. When you select 3 or more, the scan time increases and gets higher as you add more parameters.

Isn't the MUTIII protocol capable of faster then 31ms per request/response pair? 8bit request / 8bit response @ 15625bps is about 1ms. In reality it has to be somewhat slower than that... but 30 times slower?!?!

Also, even on the slower capture rates, the selected rate does not match the actual rate(as seen at the bottom of the logger screen). Why is this?

Capture rate is minimus amount of time for retreive all requested parameters.

So, I create some test: send 1000 request without any calculation, charts, updates, etc. Each request is 1byte write and 2byte read on 65200bsp (I made some changes in ECU ROM and ECU start operate on this speed).
Result is 16 seconds, i.e. 1 parameter per 16ms
Logger speed (with parameter calculations, synchronizations, updates and etc) is 1 parameter per 20ms.

You can make your own conclusion...
