Documentation Instructions

Postby Mandrake » Tue Apr 17, 2007 2:02 am

Can anyone point me to somewhere where there is some basic user instructions or documentation for ecuedit. I am relatively new to this and after hacking around with it for about an hour, I can't even get it to display my rom.

I think I read that there was no vendor supplied documentation, which is a bit of a shame for the price.

Compare to the quality of this software and its capabilities, be sure that the price you had to pay for it is nothing. Thanks to Epifan

To open your ROM image : download and run XMLwrite in order to generate the xml description file of your ECU for Ecuedit. Once you have your xml description file, copy it into the ecuedit xml folder so that ecuedit can use it and open your hex file.

I have xmlwrite. It is in the ecuedit folder. It seems not to know how to handle my 2007 sti rom file at all. When I use it it replies, no maps found, do you wnt to open for decription. So what now? I have an Enginuity def file that opens the rom in Enginuiy. I converted that using the converter. I opne the rom for description and tell it to "clone" with the converted def file. If all I get is empty maps?
What now ?

So obviously you are a supporter. This is good. I can just say that I write simple code for applets. No one ever lets me put anything on the street without documentation. It is what it is, but right now it is causing me major frustration.
