Dyno plots?

Postby ev8siv3 » Tue Sep 12, 2006 12:42 am

Will the dyno's plotting be fixed on the next release?

You are talking about "spikes" in dyno chart? or something else?

Yeah instead of looking like a natural curve they look like oscillating waves.?

Dyno still funky.. any way to make it read right? Fix in the works?

Also, selecting a different gear doesn't change the plot.

Heres an example:

You select "Vehicle Speed Method" so gear set is not used. Uncheck "Vehicle Speed" and try again. I have no difference with "Road Dyno Spreadsheet" - graphs are equal.

Unchecking the Vehicle speed still results in a very wavy graph. I would venture to say that the peak numbers calculate out closely to power output.. however will this graph look like a normal Dyno Sheet eventually?

What is this crazy graphs? This is WOT? On which gear? Send to me your log I check it

You can compare it in Road Dyno Spreadsheet:
http://www.epifansoft.com/download/Road_Dyno_Rev2-1.xls
Check 'Copy to clipboard' in EcuEdit Dyno Chart and paste to this sheet.

This log was created from ecuEdit? Log have many time mistakes (2 points with same time) - that because log is too wave.
p.s. if log is from ecuEdit, I check program tomorrow on car

Yes the logs I have been using are from EcuEdit. I have my refresh rate set at 50ms. I can try slowing it down? I'd prefer not to though. I am using the OpenPort 1.2 cable as well.

I have exactly the same results...

If I take the spreadsheet and extract rpm and time and impor it into powerdyn, I get a nice curve after a level 5 smoothing.

I think the calculation method is only taking into account the derivative of two points when it should condiser 3 or 4 in a row to extract an average curve for a particular point.

I noticed that the sampling rate has some issues.. it may be related. I haven't tried logging at a slower sampling rate since it's much too delayed.. but..

When I am at 20/50/100ms the sampling rate drops to 0ms then up to 380ms then about 180ms.. but functions fine. If I switch to 200ms the sampling rate shows 200-201ms and never hits 0 or fluctuates.. it's just very very slow.

Perhaps we can have a 150/180ms sampling rate setting?

I change StepTime calculation for logging. Please make new WOT logs with fixed program.

New executable file http://www.epifansoft.com/download/ecuEdit.exe
Just copy it to ecuEdit directory

This new EXE fixes the problem with the jumpy mS display at the bottom, I get a consistent 180ms now. It also fixes the double time stamps in the CSV file.. but the DYNO is still wavy on WOT runs.
