Kernel Issue with 3.11.16.830

Postby Scott.T » Sun Oct 19, 2014 5:15 pm

Downloaded 3.11.16.830 a couple of months ago and tried to use for the 1st time today.
Initially I got 'Can't load Kernel S_HC16_v106' error.

I found a link on this forum to a Kernel download which contained S_HC16_v106

However, now I get the following :

-- New session started at 10/19/2014 12:24:04 PM : Write process with template Subaru 16-bit ECU --

[12:24:04.195] loading kernel from file C:\Program Files\ecuEdit (Licensed)\kernels\s_hc16_v106.bin

[12:24:04.211] kernel checksum is valid (n = 818)
[12:24:04.211] 196608 byte image read
[12:24:04.227] found OpenPort 1.3U cable
[12:24:04.242] program version: 3.11.16.830

[12:24:18.189] ECU response error
[12:24:18.298] kernel get version
[12:24:21.433] rkrv: preamble 1 no response
[12:24:21.543] unable to load kernel
[12:24:21.543] Errors occurred

I have never had a problem loading to this car's ECU on previous versions.

I have now moved all my ECUEdit files into backup directory and re-downloaded the latest.
This doesn't even appear to come with any Kernels ??

I run ECUEdit Pro/Admin, so not sure if this makes any difference.
Any help appreciated Thanks

I am having the exact same situation with my new installation of Ecuedit 3.11.16.380 Pro on Windows 8. I can log, but not write. Any attempt to flash results in the following error:

-- New session started at 14.11.2014 14:45:30 : Test write process with template Subaru 16-bit ECU --

[0,000] loading kernel from file C:\Program Files (x86)\ecuEdit\kernels\s_hc16_v106.bin
[0,000] 1636 byte kernel read
[0,000] kernel checksum is valid (n = 818)
[0,000] 196608 byte image read
[0,031] found OpenPort 2.0 (J2534) cable
[0,000] program version: 3.11.16.830
[8,000] denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
[0,031] ECU response unknown
[0,110] kernel get version
[0,031] rkrv: preamble 1 error
[0,109] unable to load kernel
[0,000] Errors occured
----- CRC:3E308CA0E9733CA8443DF79E06DF1F21

I have the same installation/same version of ecuedit on Windows 7 (my old laptop that is to be retired) that works perfect. 3.11.16.830 on Windows 7 logs and writes perfectly.
So I assume it is an issue with windows 8 / ecuedit 3.11.16.830...

I have compared the installation on win7 vs win 8 and the kernel files reside in C:\Program Files (x86)\ecuEdit\Kernels on both installations. So kernels are present.
XmlDefs of my ECU (A4RN1000) is present in xmldefs folder.

How can I overcome this issue?
Please help.
