LM-1 is disconnected after a while

Postby Spec C Wannabe » Mon Jun 11, 2007 5:38 am

After struggling with the USB-serial adapter, driver, configuring of external sensor, I have managed to run LM-1 and ecuEdit logger.

Now after running ecuEdit Logger for a while (about only 5 minutes or less), the LM-1 reading displayed in the logger would stopped and a window popped up "CANT CONNECT TO EXTERNAL DEVICE". The AFR shown in LM-1's display AFR were still working when this happended.

What's wrong with the system?? :( :(

Please, anyone, please help.

And By the way, what is the best Baud Rate for LM-1.

I think the problem may come from incorrect setting of Baud rate and Port Setting.

Please reccommemd...

Thnx

In current version of ecuEdit I use Innovate ActiveX component. So, I can't control this problem and can't fix. I will adding direct support of LM1/LC1, but can't say when.

LM-1 works on 19200bps.

Hey thanks for your input.

Speaking of Port and Baud Rate setting,

Right now my current port setting is:

Onlim=2048
Offlim = 512

Read Interval= -1
Read Const. = 50
Write Conts. = 500

My Baud Rate is 4800 :shock: :shock:

I can not change Baud Rate to higher setting as this is the only choice in the menu. No other Baud Rate is offered.

How can I change to your reccommended 19200 bps?

Is my current port setting Ok?

If not which parameter and how much should I change?

I have IBM Thinkpad running Intel Centrino and Win XP. RAM = 256 MB

I'm having this same issue. I use a real hardware serial port on my Dell laptop (COM1, not a USB to serial converter). I have everything set to default in Ecuedit.

Is there any way you could at least force Ecuedit to reconnect when an error was detected? In fact, same thing would be nice if you lost ECU connection.

Is there any possibility of an update on this? This is really annoying when I try to log my own car. When I tune my own car, I really can't keep looking over to restart Ecuedit and restart file logging. It's not a big deal for a short run where it usually doesn't stop working, but over 5 minutes it tends to disconnect a lot.

Mine stop after only less than 5 minutes.

I'm just guessing 5 minutes is the median time for a disconnect.

Sometimes it is only 2 minutes. Sometimes it will go ok for 20.

Either way I think it needs attention.

For LM-1, LC-1 connection I use ActiveX component from Innovate. I can't debug it and can't fix it...
So, I try to make direct support for LM-1, LC-1 in future...

Good news:
I discover Innovate forums, and find this thread with this problem. Problem was solved by changing mts.dll from last version of LogWork2.
New mts.dll here
