Logging Not Working properly

Postby ev8siv3 » Mon Sep 18, 2006 3:51 pm

I setup the LM-1 to log this morning and I've run into some issues. I am running a 2005 USDM WRX MT.

1. When logging set to trigger off WOT, it is beginning logging without being WOT. I can hear the "warning" chime when logging begins even at around 20% TPS. I turned this off and set to trigger on DEFOG.

2. Trigger on DEFOG does not work either. I do not hear the warning chime and nothing was logging.

3. Trigger on Keypress INS. This seems to work, however all logs I got with this option were 440bytes in length and were un-usable.

Also, it is very hard to tell when you are logging or not. I noticed a very small notice in the lower right of the screen but it is hard to see while driving. Can you make the main title bar reflect that it is LOGGING or maybe change the color of the Logger window frame so we can tell that it is indeed logging?

Other notes:

I am logging from the DASHBOARD screen, not the Data & Graph screen (not sure if this matters). In the DEMO mode in the program the INS key works fine and I get normal logs, however the LM-1 option is not there in the DEMO.

I will try again in a little bit, perhaps it was user error, but the WOT is definately not working correctly.

Bug in logdefs.xml
Please change line
<trigger name="Full throttle" expr="LP("Throttle Opening Angle")>10"/>
to
<trigger name="Full throttle" expr="LP("Throttle Opening Angle")>99"/>

This is strange thing

Ok, step by step
1. start ecuEdit
2. press [Ctrl+G] for Logger
3. F5 - connect to ECU
4. Select parameters for logging
5. Ctrl+P to unlock pause mode and start screen logging
6. Ins for logging to file
7. Ins for stop logging
8. Looking for ecuEdit_*.csv file

Status bar in Logger window became green when writing to file. I think is more the enough.

Ahh, I see that in the logdefs, I set it to 95 now. Going to try it in a few. I know it's strange but I will give it another shot after work. Thanks for the quick response!

Ok I have more info on the bug.

If the trigger type is set to "WOT" or "Defogger Switch" the INS key will not work. It creates a 440byte file every time no matter what.

If you set the trigger to OFF, the INS key works perfectly!

If you set the trigger to Defogger, it doesn't work when the defogger is on. (At least on mine? Could be an XML issue)

I set the WOT to 95% and it didn't turn on at 100% (will tweak that more later in the XML hopefully)

So it does appear that there are some conflicts, I would like to be able to use the defog + INS at least.

In current version of ecuEdit you must enable (check) Throttle Position parameter for WOT trigger and Rear Defogger parameter for defogger trigger.
This issue will be fixed in next release
