What do these tables do?

Postby thejean » Thu Sep 07, 2006 3:28 pm

1. RPM vs Throttle - #11 - 282D4
2. RPM vs Smoothed Map Manual - #15 - 2A691
3. Overrun Feul Cut-Off Delay - #05 - 29857
4. Idle Air Flow Map - Coolant Temp Based - #91 - 280F8
5. Idle Engine Load Map - Coolant Temp Based - #91 - 2811E
6. Throttle Angle - Into Idle - #00 - 2829E
7. Throttle Angle - Out of Idle - #00 - 282A3

I could take a guess but would like opinions from those in the know.

Thanks, JC

No one to you will give 100% answer to this question. 100% know only in FHI. I use for the change only some of them. These maps relate to advanced level of knowledge, and, as me it seems are not completely necessary to you.

I appreciate your reply. I do think I will need some of these however for what I plan to do. I will post back when I figure out exactly what each table does. Cheers, JC

The ecu uses tables and maps to either look up values for input or cross reference those values to look up values on another map.

The maps and tables that you have posted gives feedback to the ecu. This is how it knows whats to do during idle.

Load values can change during idle conditions. If the air conditioner is on at idle the ecu increases rpm. That changes the load. Also if the car is idling and the coolant temp goes up, the fan cuts on. These lookup gives the ecu what it needs to manage everything while the engine is running idle or not.

The values you listed are linked to the way the engine components are designed and really shouldn't need modification. If you are redesigning the engine. Throttle body, cooling system fans, pump ect.. then maybe you can use them.

As a tuner, you need to only change the main components of performance Air, Fuel, Fire.

Air - intake, boost
Fuel - injector size and control, fuel map (amount of fuel delivered)
Fire - ignition timing

These are the basics that you need. I would not bother any of the other map for now at least.

It does log MY99/00 Euro spec and JDM Imprezas, but the pull down list of Advance Multiplier and Engine Load values are missing the addresses for these vehicles.

Not sure if they are in the XML or hard coded, I'll have a look later.
