i have an 02 wrx (usdm) with aftermarket cams and i need to raise the idle rpms, along with increasing the misfire threashold(crank and cam sensors dont like the forged internals of the V7 block i put in  ). is ecuedit capable of this?

Yes. Once the XML is supported, yes

Well I bought the full version today. Epifan told me to use XMLwrite to get a definition. I have an2007 STI, either xmlwrite has no idea what the definition for the 2007 maps are all about (which is not a supprise as I have heard that xmlwrite has not been updated in some time), or I have no clue how to use it. All I got was an empty window. I have a preliminary decription from Enginuity, I was able to convert it and view it, but it is just a description. I cannot get my rom to open using this definition. So how do I get the definition file that I was supposed to get after purchase to view/edit my ROM that was promised above? Or how do I get ECUedit to use the preliminary def that I converted to view and edit my ROM?
Right now this thing is pretty useless to me.

Preliminary or not it should open and work. Perhaps your converted XML is not complete. The conversion process isn't terribly straight forward.

Did you convert your Enginuity description using ecuEdit Converter?
If you do and this is not help, send to me your ROM and Enginuity description, I'll check it.

I did get the enginuity def file to work in enginuity. I used the ecuedit converter to convert it. When xmlwrite says it can find no map, I open the file for description. I tell it to clone with the converted description. It opens a map, but each section has no data in it. . I will send the files to you.

I got your fix and it worked. I also got the latest Enginuity released defs with the 2007 J and G ecus def finalized. It works and opens with my rom as well.
Thanks!
